Mike's TV and Movie 'career'.
When I started as the Chairman with the Old Time Music Hall
I started getting English speaking parts in all sorts of movie things.
I've listed things chronologically and where its been possible I've
included clips of my scenes. The
files are all quite large but with a fast connection five minutes should be the max. They all play with
RealPlayer
Between 1984 and 1986 I was involved in ten training films for several
major companies like Philips, GE and KPN.

In 1986 I made a commercial for the Dutch independent airline, Transavia.
This was shown on the then new and revolutionary satelite station, Sky Television.

In 1986 I was cast as the (American) Desk Sergent in
Flodder in America, directed by Dick Maas.

In 1991 I met Paul Ruven when he was casting his, I believe, second movie. His first one had won
an accolade. Sahara Sandwich, starring Jeroen Krabbé, was a rather surrealistic movie with five,
or was it six, people playing the "Detective", among them, me.

Again Paul Ruven asked me for a rôle, this time in his 1993 movie, Shocking Blue. This called for me to
play the writer, Stephen King, with a short monologue under the shower.

In 1994 Paul Ruven made yet another "weird", short movie,
Zap. I was lucky to be asked to
play television gardener.

In 1999 Paul Ruven chose me to play the
"Actor's Agent" in his movie Enigma.

To reduce size I converted this to mpg with trial software,
that explains the watermark in the centre of the screen.

2000 was a great year for me when Paul Ruven chose me to play the main part, Bob, in a four episode
mini-series called The Screenplay Interviews. Thanks also to the VPRO.

2002 saw me with a couple of scenes in the fabulously long-running soap Goede Tijd, Slechte Tijd
I played an American who'd come to Holland with his wife to adopt a baby.

A year later I'm American again in Westenwind, a series about a ship-building dynasty in
Rotterdam. This time I'm not after a baby but after drugs. I'm a criminal!

De Enclave was one of the last projects directed by Willem vd Sande Bakhuyzen.
This was an exciting three part mini series based around the fall of Srebrenica. Again I'm an
American, a representative of the US government assisting the Dutch authorities during those dangerous
times. This was a VARA production.

Last but not least, well for now I hope, again I was an American, this time secret service,
trying to 'guide' the Dutch government in their struggle against internal terrorism.
Great piece of tension and thrills in this mini series Offers directed by
Dana Nechushtan for the VARA.
